Policies for Empowerment
and Opportunity
Employment and Skills Attainment
As a leading nonprofit provider of employment training, job placement services and other community programs for people looking to secure employment and build their skills, we advocate for programs within the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), and other training and employment opportunities that help those individuals find jobs and advance in their careers.
Nonprofit Social Enterprise
Donors play a vital role in our ability to fulfill the Goodwill mission. Goodwill harnesses the power of donations to help people achieve their full potential through learning and the power of work. Last year, local Goodwill organizations collectively earned the trust of more than 116 million donors. Goodwill seeks to expand charitable giving incentives and increase donor awareness and transparency.
Environmental Sustainability
At Goodwill, we believe we have an important role in addressing the global textile waste issue to preserve the enormous economic and social value that resold goods provide. That’s why local Goodwill organizations are actively forming partnerships with brands, innovators, recyclers, universities and other key stakeholders in the circular economy to develop solutions for hard-to-recycle materials like textiles. Local Goodwill organizations stand ready to partner with federal, state, and local governments as they try to address textile waste and advance textile recycling.
